Is a 20-Year Lifespan Possible?

Biokwantum LED biodegradable light bulbs offer a low degradation engineering strategy based on the fact that our LED components take far less electricity to create an equivalent amount of light than our competitors’ (See chart above).

As a comparison, The G* E***** S**** 60W Replacement LED is rated for 15,000 hours, while many other LED bulbs claim 25,000 hours.(2)

LEDs are the longest-lasting light bulbs, lasting for years longer than their counterparts, with lifespans of up to 50,000 hours. So theoretically:

27 years x 365 days = 9,855 days
5 hours a day x 9,855 days = 49,275 hours

Bulb Life = 27 Years

Biokwantum determines our estimated lifespan based on sustainable practices of user-conscious operation. If used at a maximum of 5 hours per day and the maximizing tips (to the right) are followed, the bulbs could conceivably last 20 years. But we conservatively guarantee our bulbs for 10 years.

Maximize the Life of Your LED Bulbs

As with any product, how you use your bulbs will ultimately determine their life span. Here are a few tips to get the most life out of your Biokwantum LED sustainable bulbs.

Match LED bulbs to fixtures’ recommended voltage and wattage.

A bulb with a higher wattage than the fixture can handle may overheat and limit its lifespan.

Avoid Overtightening Bulbs.

For secure LED bulb installation, tighten them slightly. Too much tightening might harm the bulb’s base or socket, causing poor electrical connections and a shorter lifespan.

Use in Ideal Operating Temperatures.

LEDs work best in neutral temperatures. Extreme temperatures might damage the bulb’s electronics, reducing efficiency and lifespan.

Moisture and humidity protection.

LED bulbs can be damaged by moisture. LEDs with an IP65 rating are protected from dust and low-pressure water jets from any direction when used outdoors or in damp locations like restrooms.

Regular Fixture and Bulb Cleaning.

Dust and debris can build up on bulb surfaces and fixtures, reducing performance and possibly overheating bulbs. To maximize light output and efficiency, gently clean LEDs and fixtures with a dry cloth.

Avoiding repeated On-Off Cycling.

LEDs are more durable than incandescent lamps, but repeated switching might limit their lifespan. Examine your usage patterns and avoid unnecessary cycles.
